Leave your car in Farmingdale for the Ryder Cup and face $500 fines

|

Spectators heading to the Ryder Cup should think twice before trying to park in Farmingdale.

Village officials say anyone caught leaving their car in a municipal parking spot between 4 a.m. and 4 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, will be fined $500.

The municipal spots are reserved next week for commuters who have LIRR parking permits, employees and the general public for a maximum of three hours.

Parking is also forbidden on Quaker Meeting House Road or in the Rideshare lot near the main entrance.  Violators will be towed.

The only public parking lot for the Ryder Cup is at Jones Beach, with shuttle bus service provided to and from the event.
