Lidl is a week away from its opening brand-new location in Shirley, the company announced.
The German-based grocery set a grand opening at 800 Montauk Highway in Shirley for Wednesday, Sept. 22.
There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8 a.m. The day will feature DJ-spun music and chances to win prizes.
The company is also opening another location in West Babylon at 531 Montauk Highway on Wednesday, Sept. 29.
Both of these storefronts are former Best Market locations. Lidl purchased the chain back in 2018.
Altogether, with both openings, there will be over 20 Lidls on Long Island — and more are still in the works.
