Recap: A play-by-play from Patchogue’s parks presentation

|

Splash park. Ice rink. Beach volleyball.

It was all included in Wednesday night’s big parks master plan presentation in Patchogue Village.

And greaterpatchogue.com reported from the event live.

SEE THE CONCEPTUAL DESIGNS

The hearing drew about 100 residents to the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts, where conceptual designs were presented to the audience for the village’s $5 million parks overhaul. (Click here for prior coverage.)

The headliner presentation was Shorefront Park, where landscape architects pitched an overhaul that would see a small beach established for activities like beach volleyball, hills and berms added to the existing walking trail, the ball field reconfigured and a water park added for kids.

The next stop is to prioritize what people want, the price tags, and since the entire parks overhaul would cost much more than what the village has on hand, how to secure money to fund as much as possible.
