The people who introduced the peanut butter, bacon and cheddar burger (trust them on this one) to Bay Shore are opening a second location — this time in Patchogue.

Local Burger Co. announced Sunday its plans for West Main Street in Patchogue Village.

The goal is to open this spring in the east side of the former Cornell Galleries building at the corner of Railroad Avenue. (Cornell moved to Bellport earlier this year.)

A lease is already signed, the owners said, and a Local Burger sign is up in the window facing Main Street.

A Local Burger banner that incorporated Patchogue’s zip code was also flying above the restaurant’s booth Sunday at the Pulse Magazine Great Burger Battle in Shorefront Park, where Local Burger served up mac-and-cheese burgers called Return of the Mac (pictured).

“Patchogue is exploding right now, as it has been the past few years,” said Local Burger co-owner Drew Dvorkin. “But a lot of people are opening adult-themed bars and restaurants, and there’s not too much that’s family friendly. So this is a perfect market for us.”

He said the concept behind Local Burger is to offer something for everyone in a family.

“I have two kids that are 10 and 12 years old, and we can go out [to Local Burger] as a family, and as a grownup I can have a beer and a good burger,” he said. “And I can feel like a grownup. My wife can have a glass of Long Island wine.

“But our kids can also feel like kids, so there’s something there for everybody.”

Local Burger Co.’s first location opened in May 2015 in Bay Shore, with the idea that locally sourced food and drink would be used as best as possible. (Read more below.)

“We’re going to replicate what we’ve done in Bay Shore,” said Dvorkin. “We try to sell beers only from Long Island, and support all the local vendors as much as humanely possible to create a symbiosis between us and the surrounding area. We invest in the community and we hope that the community embraces us in return.”
