Long Island’s first Buffalo Wild Wings ‘GO’ location opens Feb. 29

Shirley is soon to be home to the first Buffalo Wild Wings GO location on Long Island.

Located at 999 Montauk Highway in the South Port Shopping Center, the new BWW concept will launch Thursday, Feb. 29, in what used to be a Mattress Firm, a representative of BWW confirmed to Greater Long Island.

The grand opening will be on Friday, March 1.

The new restaurant, which is 1,200 square feet, will mostly be for delivery and takeout, with some TVs and seating. Scroll down to see photos of the space.

Expect the familiar BWW wings, with its 26 signature sauces and dry rubs, plus chicken sandwiches, wraps and burgers.

“The Buffalo Wild Wings GO restaurant concept is designed specifically for takeout and delivery orders in alignment with the brand’s mission to streamline orders for guests enjoying their meals off premises,” said a spokesperson for AJ New York Management LLC, the franchisee network that owns the restaurant.

The other closest GO concept is located in Queens.

According to industry reports, the very first Buffalo Wild Wings location opened in Columbus, Oh., in 1982 before franchising about a decade later.
