Suffolk police have identified the pedestrian killed in a Manorville hit-and-run incident Sunday night as 54-year-old Michael Barnhardt of Manorville.

Barnhardt was crossing County Road 111, just north of Chapman Boulevard and near the Better Burger food truck, when he was struck by a vehicle traveling north about 8:33 p.m., police said. The driver kept going, according to authorities.

Barnhardt was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A Manorville woman who identified herself on Facebook as Barnhardt’s girlfriend, wrote
“I am the gf and I am completely heartbroken. I am not ok.”

Detectives with the Major Case Unit are asking anyone with information to call them at 631.852.6555 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1.800.220.TIPS.
