Man’s body found in pool —under protective cover — in East Shoreham

A man’s body was discovered Sunday afternoon in a backyard pool in East Shoreham, Suffolk police said.

The body was found about 4:20 p.m. as the homeowner removed the protective cover from his pool, police said. An autopsy will be conducted by personnel from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the identity and cause of death of the victim.

The man’s identity and cause of death were not immediately known. Homicide detectives are investigating the man’s death.
