Members-only cocktail lounge Bull Moose opens in Oyster Bay

The (bull) moose is loose.

Bull Moose, the latest concept from Lush Life Hospitality Group, is a private, members-only cocktail lounge and cultural salon designed to offer an intimate, old-world escape from everyday life.

The lounge’s exact location is being kept under wraps, part of the mystique behind the concept. Membership is limited and comes at a premium. Couples pay a $5,000 initiation fee, followed by $1,200 annually.

Twenty founding members were selected before applications opened, and interest continues to grow, according to a Lush Life representative.

“The space itself accommodates about 15 guests at a time, so maintaining intimacy is critical,” said chef/partner Jesse Schenker. “We anticipate capping membership around 50 couples, then adjusting based on usage to ensure the experience remains personal and never overcrowded.”

The concept draws inspiration from the social clubs of Theodore Roosevelt’s era. The name “Bull Moose” nods to his political party, while the space reflects themes of strength, individuality and a rebellious spirit.

Inside, the lounge blends classic club design with modern touches. Expect layered interiors, low lighting and a series of thoughtfully designed rooms suited for conversation and small gatherings.

The beverage program is a focal point, featuring craft cocktails and rare spirits. Signature offerings include a smoked maple old fashioned, a seasonal clarified milk punch, rotating “cellar pours” of limited-production bottles and a refined martini service with curated vermouths and custom garnishes.

The food menu, developed by Schenker, focuses on elevated, shareable bites such as truffle grilled cheese, raw bar selections and rotating cheeses and charcuterie.

Beyond food and drink, Bull Moose is positioning itself as a true cultural salon. Members will have access to immersive programming, including guided tastings, producer-led events and educational workshops, along with the ability to host private gatherings.

“At its core, Bull Moose is about connection between people, hospitality and discovery,” Schenker said. “Every detail is intentional, and the goal is to create something truly special for a community that appreciates it.”
