Garden City-based Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy has arrived in Patchogue Village.

The rapidly growing provider of physical and aquatic therapy has opened its latest location inside the new Mr. D’s Ultimate Fitness at 322 West Main Street.

The only other Metro PT location in Suffolk County is in Rocky Point.

“Patchogue seemed like such a great, emerging area that’s community oriented,” said Dr. Jenna Martorelli, director of the new location. “It’s got such a great vibe; it’s really exciting to come to work.”

Martorelli has an extensive background in physical therapy working with elite dancers. She is certified in reformer Pilates and has expertise in movement dysfunctions and orthopedic conditions, according to the company.

As for Metro’s relationship with Mr. D’s, the arrangement allows for Metro patients to have full access to the gym’s indoor turf functional training field to assist patients return to sport quicker, among other benefits.

“Metro will also cater to the geriatric patient population with special strengthening equipment and a balance machine to help prevent falls and work on neurological disorders,” reads a press release announcing the new location.

Martorelli says the Metro PT staff in Patchogue also expects more direct access patients — or walk-ins that can be evaluated and treated without a doctor’s prescription.

“We offer the same services [as other locations], but we might offer more services that would appeal to the gym members,” she said.

Moving forward, Metro will be offering aquatic therapy at the Patchogue Family YMCA, according to the staff.

Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy has 12 locations throughout Nassau and Suffolk.

Its sports rehabilitation center is in Garden City.
