Don’t tell Sag Harbor native Michael Nolan you can’t go home again.
Nolan, a third-generation Sag Harbor resident, is preparing to launch Miracle this spring at 29 Main Street, in the former Vin Sur Vingt space.
The modern American restaurant is expected to open in early May and will operate year-round for both lunch and dinner, according to an announcement.
The opening marks a long-awaited homecoming for Nolan, who previously co-founded Miracle Bar and Grill in New York City and Fresno Restaurant in East Hampton.
“Opening in Sag Harbor isn’t just operating another restaurant — it’s coming home, literally,” Nolan said. “This community shaped who I am. I’m thrilled as a Sag Harbor Village native to join a vibrant community of long-standing establishments.”
The kitchen at Miracle will be led by chef Jesus Gonzales, the culinary force behind Fresno Restaurant. The menu will focus on modern American cuisine, featuring elevated classics built around seasonal ingredients, the announcement said.
Design for the new restaurant is being led by Helen Gifford of HelenBilt, Nolan’s partner in both life and the new venture. Gifford, who has a background in London design, said the restaurant’s interiors will focus on creating an intimate and welcoming environment inspired by traditional English pubs.
“This project is deeply personal,” Gifford said. “Miracle is a shared vision of community, beauty and belonging. My team are all incredible local artisans whose opinions and ideas bring energy to our objective.”
“With lighting and design, creating a space that feels enveloping and welcoming can help people feel as held by the environment as much as the culinary hospitality.”
