Port Jefferson Village just got a whole lot sweeter.
Milky Ways, the ice cream shop known for its cereal-blended creations, has officially opened its newest location in the former Yogo Delish frozen yogurt space, bringing a colorful new dessert destination to the heart of the village.
The decision to open in Port Jefferson had been years in the making.
“We’ve had our eyes on Port Jefferson for a long time,” a representative for Milky Ways told Greater Long Island. “Every time we were in the area, we saw this former frozen yogurt shop and immediately thought, ‘This would be the perfect home for Milky Ways.’”
Milky Ways opened its original Coram location in 2020 before expanding to Huntington, Hauppauge and Rocky Point. While the Rocky Point shop closed in 2024, the company said its flagship Coram location remained popular despite limited parking. When the Port Jefferson storefront became available, the owners saw an opportunity to continue growing the brand.
“We loved Port Jefferson because of its strong sense of community, the steady foot traffic, and the mix of local families, students and visitors,” the representative said. “It felt like the perfect place to bring the next chapter of Milky Ways. We knew our concept would fit the area well, and we’re excited to create a fun, unique experience that gives people a reason to come back again and again.”
The shop specializes in handcrafted ice cream blended to order with customers’ favorite cereals and a variety of premium toppings, allowing guests to create their own combinations or choose from a rotating lineup of signature creations.
“We focus on quality, creativity and making every order feel unique,” the representative said.
Among the most popular menu items so far are creations featuring Fruity Pebbles, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Reese’s Puffs.
