Nassau County Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 14-year-old girl who was last seen in Elmont on Christmas Day.
Detectives in the department’s Missing Persons Squad report that Johari Escobar Chavez was last seen walking out of her Elmont home about 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teen’s disappearance was officially reported to police on Friday, just before 1 p.m.
Johari’s destination remains unknown, police said.
She is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighing about 170 pounds. Additionally, she has long dark hair and brown eyes.
Police said the girl was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, red pajama pants and black Crocs.
