Mr. D’s Ultimate Fitness is making the move to its new location in the former West Lake catering hall in Patchogue.
As previously reported, the gym is moving to make room for Blue Point Brewing Company, which is relocating its River Avenue brewery to the Braircliffe College building.
The wheels are fully moving to the west now for the gym, with Mr. D himself, Dennis Forman, overseeing — and taking part —in moving all the gym’s equipment to the new, 26,000-square-foot building.
“I’m happy for my customers,” said Forman. “They are really going to enjoy it.”
Forman, who also owns and operates Mr. D’s Self Storage, had all his crew on hand Friday, unloading and moving pallets stacked with fitness equipment to the 322 West Main Street location.
The new Mr. D’s will include brand new cardio machines and free weights, as well as rooms for yoga and hot yoga, saunas, an agility room, physical therapy and an indoor turf section, explained co-owner Garrett Forman.
Mr. D’s Ultimate Fitness plans to open its weight room as early as Saturday, June 3, with an expanded opening next week, said Garrett. As time progresses, Mr. D’s will be adding even more features, like a possible outdoor area for weigh training.
