Mt. Carmel church in N. Patchogue burglarized and vandalized

Investigators are asking for the public’s help in locating the person or people responsible for damaging a North Patchogue church earlier this month.

According to Suffolk County police, the suspect or suspects entered Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church around 3 p.m. on July 16.

Eight donation boxes were broken and $100 cash went missing. Police also released the accompanying photos below.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

Anyone with such information should contact Suffolk County Crime Stoppers to submit an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-220-TIPS, texting “SCPD” and your message to “CRIMES” (274637) or by email at www.tipsubmit.com.
