Nantuckets adds ‘fresh vibes’ with new renovations in Port Jeff

|

This Port Jefferson eatery just got a big-time facelift.

On Monday, Nantuckets completed a two-week renovation, adding all-new flooring, wall decor, furniture, and silverware at 9 Traders Cove.

The establishment also expanded its fireplace by double the size to enhance the fireside dining experience, says owner Richard Gerz.

“Now we have a fresh, new vibe,” Gertz told GreaterPortJeff on Tuesday.

The remodeling has been a long time coming for Gertz, who transformed his old venture Crazy Fish Bar and Gill to a coastal New England-inspired restaurant in 2018.

With Nantuckets approaching its two-year anniversary in February, Gertz felt it was a perfect time to remodel.

“When we rebranded [into Nantuckets] we upscaled our food, and now I feel the inside needs to match the food that we are serving,” said Gertz, who previously owned Panama Hatties in Huntington.

According to the owner, a fan-favorite plate has been the Crab Crust Salmon, featuring lemon-scented basmati rice, grilled asparagus, and a beurre blanc sauce.

Also, Gertz adds, his new brunch menu has been a hit in the downtown area.

“People really enjoy our bottomless mimosas and house-made sangrias,” he said.
