Long Island’s fourth Naz’s Halal Food location is opening its doors in Shirley, at 456 William Floyd Parkway.
And the owners of the growing restaurant chain are throwing a party on Saturday, Aug. 31, from noon to 4 p.m.
Everyone gets a free lunch.
Mention Greater Long Island for a free dessert.
[Naz’s in Shirley is actually opening at 3 p.m. today, Friday.]

Naz’s Halal Food, serving rice platters, gyros, burgers, salads, wings and falafel, among other items, was founded by two cousins, Naz Mashriqi and Kareem Mohmend, in 2009 as a food truck in Queens. Both are teachers at John Bowne High School in Queens.
They opened their first brick-and-mortar restaurant in January 2018 in North Babylon. Other locations are in Brentwood and Levittown.
“We’re fusion food — a mixture of Mediterranean and American food,” Mohmend previously told GreaterMoriches. “It’s healthy food that allows you to eat at a McDonald’s price point. Everything is made in house. Everything is fresh. We cook falafel fresh — it’s made to order.”
“Our main dish that we’ve been known for is our rice platters and our gyros,” Mohmend said. Click here to learn more.
Also on Saturday, revelers at Naz’s Halal Food will be getting a visit from noon to 2 p.m. from the oldies station 98.1 FM.
Then jocks from Party 105 (105.3 FM) will be taking over until 4.
