A 21-year-old man was killed early Christmas morning in a single-vehicle crash on the Northern State Parkway in Huntington, state police said.
Osmond Duarte, 21, lost control of the 2011 Hino commercial flatbed truck he was driving in the eastbound lanes of the Northern State Parkway just east of Exit 41 at Wolf Hill Road, about 6:24 a.m., state cops said. Duarte struck the center median and the truck overturned.
Police found Duart deceased in the roadway, authorities said. He had been ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
An investigation determined Duarte was operating a 2011 Hino commercial flatbed truck at an unsafe speed when he lost control of the vehicle, struck the center median and overturned. Police said Duarte was ejected from the truck during the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
