Renovations are complete and the new Byron Lake Pool in Oakdale is ready for opening day this weekend.
And from the looks of it, Islip residents are going to love what they’ve done with the place. Out-of-town visitors may be a little jealous with changes brought on by a $20 million facelift.
For one, the new state-of-the-art pools on site, including one that is Olympic sized, resemble something you’d dive into at a posh country club. For two, the grounds are completely refurbished — it doesn’t seem like a stone or blade of grass is out of place.
Park goers will also notice an expanded concessions area, a spray park and brand-new slides at one of the pools.
Scroll down for a list of all the new and changed amenities.
The fun kicks on Saturday, June 29, with the park’s grand re-opening.
Here are some photos to preview what you’ll see when you enter the park.
