No need to fill up the parking meters in downtown Port Jefferson from now until springtime.
That’s because the annual freeze on paid parking in municipal lots began this Monday.
The annual shut down is to help encourage holiday shopping in the winter months, village officials previously told GreaterPortJeff.
(Street parking is free year-round, though with time constraints.)
The meters will be offline until at least March 1.
