Patchogue gears up for ‘Little Monsters Mash’ Halloween party

|

If you’re looking for some last-minute Halloween fun for the family, Patchogue has you covered.

RISE Life Services and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church are set to host the “Little Monsters Mash” Halloween party on Thursday at St. Paul’s, located at 31 Rider Ave.

The event’s organizers said the event promises an evening full of spooky fun for all ages.

From 4-8 p.m., families are encouraged to come in costume and enjoy a festive lineup of activities that includes party games, a bounce house, live music and trunk-or-treating. A spooky walk will feature a different scene at every corner, including a butcher shop, farm, doll house and fortune teller.

There will also be pizza and snacks available. The atmosphere is designed to be safe, family-friendly, and inclusive, organizers said.

As a way to give back to the community, RISE and the church are requesting that attendees bring a non-perishable food item as an entry donation, which will support local families in need.

St. Paul’s offers an array of outreach ministries, including a thrift shop and a food pantry that serves 185 families a week. The church also partners with Patchogue Neighbors Soup Kitchen, feeding nearly 90 people each week.

RISE Life Services also partners with the soup kitchen, helping distribute meals and coffee to guests.

“As a priest in the community, my job is to bring different communities together,” said St. Paul’s priest in charge, Fr. James Reiss, explaining the importance of the Halloween event. “An unlikely relationship of a church and day program for adults with special needs has proved to be not only life-giving for the church, but also fruitful for all the ministries that this church provides.”
