Three-year varsity football starter Alex Hoffman received the Scholar Athlete Award this month after Patchogue-Medford’s Great American Rivalry Series® game with Sachem North.
Hoffman is an inside linebacker and tight end graduating in June. He is also a four-year starter with the Raiders’ varsity lacrosse program and a member of the National Honor Society.
In his junior year, he earned All Conference honors in football. He is a six-time NYSPHSSA Scholar Athlete Award Winner and participtes in the Parent Teaches Student Association.
And, he’s a three-sport athlete who also wrestles and plays football.
Each week, the Great American Rivalry Series® shines the spotlight on top high school football rivalries across the nation. Sponsored by the U.S. Marines Corps, the series presents each winning team with a Great American Rivalry Series® Championship Trophy.
The top senior student-athlete from each football program involved in the rivalry game receives the Scholar Athlete Award. Click here to see Hoffman’s highlights from the Oct. 14 game, which Patchogue-Medford (3-4) lost, 42-7.
