Patchogue’s first virtual bar crawl quickly sells out

|

Social distancing doesn’t mean having to miss out on the latest food and drink crawl in downtown Patchogue.

Well, that’s the idea behind the first Patchogue Virtual Bar Crawl, which features seven establishments in the village delivering appetizers and drinks to cooped up crawlers.

The first-of-its-kind crawl, set for today, was an instant success, quickly selling out of tickets.

Because of its popularity, the event organizers say they will be bringing it back every Saturday.

Here’s how it works:

From about every hour between 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., small bites and alcoholic beverages are dropped off to ticket buyers’ homes.

The participating establishments include The Better Man Distilling Co., The Cheese Patch, Fulton’s Gate, That Meetball Place, Perabell Food Bar, Swell Taco, Village Idiot.

“We’re going to be serving up tacos and cocktails,” said event organizer Abby Gruppuso and co-owner of Better Man distillery on the first crawl.

Those who want to join in on the fun have to live around three miles away from Patchogue’s Main Street.

There are also different packages depending on how many people your group.
