Toys “R” Us is officially back on Long Island.
The iconic toy brand opened its new 7,000-square-foot flagship at Tanger Outlets Deer Park on Saturday morning — the first stand-alone Toys “R” Us on Long Island since 2018 — and Greater Long Island was there as the doors opened to excited families lined up down the concourse despite the rain.

The store, operated by Go! Retail Group, takes over the former Forever 21 space and brings back all the nostalgia: towering displays of LEGO sets, Barbie collections, Hot Wheels tracks, NERF blasters, Paw Patrol, and more. Kids and adults alike were greeted by a massive Geoffrey the Giraffe set-piece for photo ops, one of several interactive spots throughout the new shop.
A Toys “R” Us spokesperson said the New York flagship was purpose-built as an immersive, memory-filled experience — one that encourages shoppers to explore, play, and rediscover the brand that generations grew up on.
Until today, the closest full-scale Toys “R” Us store for Long Islanders had been the flagship at the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, N.J.
