Photo tour of The Northport Hotel, LI’s sparkling new boutique hotel

|

The anticipation is over for a new boutique hotel on Long Island’s North Shore.

After years of planning and development, The Northport Hotel began hosting its first guests last month at 225 Main St. in Northport.

The three-story hotel features 26 hotel rooms on the second and third stories, with a 175-seat Italian steakhouse on the ground level that will be opening soon. There’s also a guest lounge named after the owners’ long-time friend Anthony “Tony” V. Curto, a longtime lawyer who helped create the Bernard M. Baruch Foundation.

The owners of the hotel are Kevin O’Neill and Richard Dolce, who also own the John W Engeman Theater located nearby. They were inspired to build the hotel due to a lack of lodging options in Northport’s downtown area.

“Northport is such a charming little harbor town that has the appeal and access from the harbor,” O’Neill previously told Greater Long Island. “You can get off your boat down the block, grab a burger, catch a show. But one thing we felt all along that has been missing is land-lodging.”
