Photos: David Beckham visits Long Island for launch of new cologne collection

|

Soccer legend and global icon David Beckham made a rare Long Island visit on Thursday, Oct. 12.

“Becks” appeared at JCPenney at the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City from 1-2:30 p.m. Organizers distributed 400 wristbands, on a first-come, first-served basis for fans to see him.

Beckham, an English superstar and sponsorship prince who now co-owns Major League Soccer’s Inter Miami franchise, was in town to officially unveil his latest venture, The Collection, an affordable line of three colognes.

Beckham’s appearance comes soon after the release of Netflix’s four-part docuseries, “Beckham.”

The series blends Beckham’s love story with his wife Victoria and his impressive journey through the world of professional soccer, which has solidified his status as one of the sport’s — if not the world’s — most recognizable figures.

With a net worth of over $450 million, Beckham’s influence extends beyond sports into various businesses, from fashion to fragrance. The Collection’s trio of colognes are Infinite Aqua, Aromatic Greens and Refined Woods.
