Comsewogue graduate and famed TV personality Clinton Kelly is back on the Food Network’s “Spring Baking Championship” for his second season.
The baking competition returned to air for its sixth season on Monday, March 9, featuring the Port Jefferson Statopm native who replaced former host Ali Kahn back in 2019. This is the show’s sixth season.
Prior to his latest endeavor with the Food Network, Kelly was known as a co-host and for his fashion sense on TLC’s makeover series, “What Not to Wear,” which aired from 2003-2013. After that, he became a household name as a panelist on ABC’s “The Chew,” from 2011-2018.
His new show is a little different.
“Spring Baking Championship” follows 11 bakers competing for a grand prize of $25,000, after creating two rounds of specifically themed desserts and savory treats surrounding different challenges.
Kelly told Newsday that the show is a happy one that will bring smiles to people’s faces. “It’s just really lovely people making beautiful, delicious desserts and cheering each other on,” he said.
After Kelly’s parents settled in Port Jeff Station, he attended John F. Kennedy Middle School and was a class of ’87 Comsewogue High School grad. Since then, he’s been back to his alma mater twice to give commencement addresses.
