A popular mom-and-pop bakery in Selden is closing its doors for good.
The owners of Prestano Bakery announced on Facebook their last day of operation will be Sunday, Aug. 22.
“After 40 years in the bakery business, we’ve made the decision to retire to North Carolina,” reads the post.
“The decision is bittersweet but is one that has to be made.”
The old-school bakery, located at 806 Middle Country Road, was well-known for its Italian-American breads, pastries, cakes and doughnuts.
“We thank all the customers and employees who enabled us to be in business for all these years and would not have been able to succeed without their support,” continues the post. “Thank you all!”
