Right Coast Taqueria of Deer Park is changing up their taco-slinging game with the recent launch of a satellite, virtual kitchen in Holbrook.
The 30-foot trailer parked at 960 Main St. offers Right Coast Taqueria’s full menu of traditional Mexican food to enjoy by pick-up or delivery.
Right Coast owner Richard Zoob, 46, says the COVID-19 pandemic inspired him and his business partner, David Preisler, to run with the idea.
“Especially with people’s new eating habits,” Zoob said.
The team is calling it a mobile kitchen that isn’t exactly like a typical food truck, where people can walk up and order.Everything will be done digitally through the Right Coast Taqueria app.

Zoob, who is originally from Kings Park but now lives in Holbrook himself, says he wanted to bring freshly made, yet on-the-go options to his own community.
“Our food is scratch,” Zoob said. “Down from the heirloom corn we import from Mexico to press our tacos, to the cannoli cream for our cannoli tacos — we make everything in house.”
The Right Coast Taqueria app is now available on the App store, which went live March 1. The virtual kitchen’s official opening was March 9.
People who place orders can have food delivered to their car as well.
Aside from their own app, the Right Coast virtual kitchen will be listed on Uber Eats, GrubHub, and DoorDash for delivery as well.
Right Coast’s full location is at 516 Commack Road in Deer Park, with plans afoot for expanding with more virtual and traditional locations.
They’ve already ordered another mobile kitchen.
“I think the opening will be pretty smooth,” Zoob said. “The town’s pretty jazzed — ever since we put it out on Instagram, the response has been overwhelming.”
