Saturday Candy Co. opening Sayville shop just in time for Easter

|

The South Shore is about to get a little sweeter with the opening of Saturday Candy Co.’s second shop on Friday.

Owner Julia Brandt told Greater Long Island that after opening the Stony Brook location with her husband last October, she began noticing a trend — many of their customers were traveling from the South Shore.

“So many families were coming to Stony Brook from Sayville,” she said.

The connection runs even deeper.

Brandt’s husband, Bo, is also a Sayville native.

“We are always there. We have so many friends in Sayville and love the town,” she said.

The couple began eyeing locations earlier this year, ultimately settling on a storefront in February.

Over the past two months, they’ve made light renovations to bring the space in line with the colorful, candy-filled aesthetic the brand has become known for.

Located at 12 Gillette Ave., Brandt said the Sayville location will feel very similar to the original — just slightly smaller.

“It’s very similar,” she said. “Just a little smaller.”

Known for its wide variety of Swedish candy and signature self-serve wall, the new shop is opening just in time for Easter. Hours will be daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
