Sayville’s Class of 2023 includes 34 student-athletes who will play college sports

A whopping 34 members of Sayville High School’s graduating Class of 2023 have committed to playing college sports. It amounts to about 10 percent of the graduating class.

The student-athletes include seven graduating seniors from the football team, five baseball players and a combined eight women’s and men’s lacrosse players. The seniors, who officially graduate later this month, gathered for a ceremony in the high school gymnasium, where Athletic Director Ryan Cox congratulated the group for their accomplishments.

The student-athletes are set to participate in athletics for NCAA Division I, II and III programs.

Listed below is a breakdown of where and what they will play.

Softball:

  • Madison Anderson – SUNY New Paltz
  • Sarah Blaskiewicz – University of Connecticut
  • Kristen Tellier – Mount Saint Mary College

Football:

  • Jeremy Brett – SUNY Brockport
  • Liam Higgins – St. John Fisher College
  • Timari Jackson – Buffalo State University
  • Anthony Morrione – SUNY Brockport
  • Griffin Perez – Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
  • Benjamin Pierce – SUNY Brockport
  • Benny Sands – Franklin and Marshall College

Men’s Soccer:

  • Owen Burke – SUNY Geneseo
  • Kyle Knussmann – Manhattanville College

Women’s Track and Field:

  • Abigail Carberry – SUNY Cortland

Women’s Swimming:

  • Jordan Carpentieri – American University
  • Emma Haas – Sacred Heart University

Men’s Lacrosse:

  • Nick Corace – Manhattanville College
  • Ronan Fitzpatrick – Towson University
  • Braden McNamara – Queen’s College of Charlotte
  • Kristian Kent – Florida Southern College

Baseball:
