Scene of the crime: Hollywood prop money used at Selden 7-Eleven

|

It’s not Monopoly money, but come on. Would you be duped by this fake dub?

A 7-Eleven clerk apparently was— at least temporarily.

The prop money was used to make a purchase at a Selden 7-Eleven, located at 648 Middle Country Road, police said. And not until the customer was long gone did someone at the store become all the wiser.

Suffolk County Police now want the public’s help to identify and locate the man who used the fake “For Motion Picture Purposes” $20 bill. They’ve put out an image of the fake money (above) and a surveillance camera photo of the man who allegedly made the purchase with the prop cash.

The incident happened June 19 about 10:15 p.m. Police asked that anyone with information to call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1.800.220.TIPS.
