Scenes from the Last Tailgate for the Islanders at Nassau Coliseum

New York Islanders

If you weren’t born before, say, 1976, this was the biggest Islanders home game of your life.

And Long Island’s team didn’t disappoint with a thrilling come-from-behind overtime victory over last year’s champs, the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Even before last week’s big Game 6, the Nassau Coliseum property was rocking in what proved to be the old barn’s last home game for the New York Islanders, who are moving to Elmont and a gleaming-new, $1.5 billion USB Arena for the 2021-22 season.

We hope enough time has passed since Friday’s Game 7 loss to the Lighting to appreciate them.
