Love triangle, Facebook fight precede Stony Brook Yacht Club stabbing

|
It appears a love triangle was at the core of the stabbing death of a Selden man on Nov. 10 in Stony Brook.

A parked car became a trap. A crash set the stage. And in just minutes, a man lay dead in the parking lot of the Stony Brook Yacht Club.

The victim, Christopher Millwater, 52, of Selden, was allegedly ambushed by Victor Panebianco, 32, at the urging of Millwater’s former lover, 33-year-old Kacy Corso of Setauket, according to court documents related to Corso’s arraignment on second-degree murder Thursday.

Prosecutors said Corso blocked Millwater’s car with her own and then rammed into it, creating the chaos that led to his stabbing death — which the New York Post reported came at the hands of Panebianco, Corso’s current beau.

Corso remains behind bars at the Suffolk County Jail. She is due back in court Monday. Her mug shot was released Friday by the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department.

Panebianco, who has also been arrested, is being extradited from North Carolina and has not yet been arraigned locally.

Court filings point to a possible love triangle motive, with prosecutors claiming Corso encouraged Panebianco to carry out the attack, the New York Post reported.

The new boyfriend asked Millwater, a father of two adult children, about his past relationship with Corso, prosecutors said, before stabbing him multiple times in the heart and lungs, according to the report.

Authorities say the confrontation unfolded between 3:36 and 3:40 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 10. Corso allegedly blocked Millwater’s car in the parking lot and then crashed into it. Panebianco approached Millwater and stabbed him multiple times, leaving him fatally wounded in the lot.

The months leading up to the killing were marked by tension that spilled onto Facebook.

Corso repeatedly posted public accusations against Millwater, suggesting deception and “psycho” behavior.

Just two days before his death, Millwater hauntingly wrote: “Plenty of time to rest when I’m dead.”
