Pedestrian killed in Selden crash on Middle Country Road

A man walking along Middle Country Road was struck and killed by a Mercedes late Thursday night, police said.

The pedestrian was in front of 761 Middle Country Road when the westbound 2008 Mercedes Benz ML350 hit him at 9:34 p.m., according to Suffolk Police.

The victim, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver, Clarissa Macioce, 50, of St. James, was not injured in the crash.

Police impounded the Mercedes for a safety check.

Suffolk Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating the crash and ask anyone with information to call 631.854.8652.
