Brian “Boom” Kelleher achieved his 20th mixed martial arts victory in award-winning fashion.
On Saturday during the main card of UFC 246 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the Selden native defeated UFC newcomer Ode Osbourne (6-3) by submission with a guillotine choke in the first round.
The impressive win earned the Long Island fighter a Performance of the Night award, nabbing him a $50,000 bonus.
And he did it in front of over 19,000 live spectators, as well as on a pay-per-view card that saw the victorious return of Conor McGregor.
“Once you leave your neck out, I head hunt, and I take advantage of it,” Kelleher told reporters following the fight.
Now 20-10, this was Kelleher’s first win in his last three matches in the UFC.
