Family and friends of Babylon resident Bella Trezza, an aspiring nurse who died Sept. 25 from injuries she suffered in a car wreck in West Babylon four days earlier, will gather for funeral services later this week to honor her life and memory. A senior at St. John the Baptist High School in West Islip, Trezza was 17.

Visitation services will be held Thursday, Oct. 3, from 2-4:30 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, 448 W. Main St. in Babylon. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, located at 700 Albin Ave. in West Babylon.

Following the church service, Trezza will be laid to rest at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.

Trezza is survived by her parents, Kelly and Jay; her brothers, James Smith and Austin Trezza; her sister, Alexa-Rae Trezza; her grandparents; Patricia and William Custance; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Trezza died Wednesday, four days after she was gravely injured in car wreck in West Babylon that also claimed two other lives. She was driving a vehicle that was struck by another car that had ran a red light just after 1 a.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Railroad Avenue and Great East Neck Road, police said.

Trezza saved three lives through organ donation, reported LiveOnNY, an organization dedicated to promoting organ and tissue donation.
