Services held for Suffolk Police Sergeant Steven Surian

Steven J. Surian, a sergeant with Suffolk County Police, died suddenly on Sunday, Feb. 18. He was 53.

The Huntington resident was active in the Second Precinct and served 30 years overall with the Suffolk County Police Department.

“He will be missed,” reads an Instagram post by the Second Precinct’s official page. “May he rest in peace.”

Surian is survived by his wife, Deborah; two daughters, Monica and Chelsea; parents, John and Martha; sister Susan Reische (Kirk); sister-in-law Linda Maney; nieces to Heather Reische; nephews, Luke Reische, Dylan and Nicholas Maney; uncle, Emil Brozich, and mother-in-law, Mary Quaglio.

VISITATION
Claude R. Boyd-Spence Funeral Home; 448 West Main St., Babylon; Thursday, Feb. 22; 2-4:30 p.m. and 7-9:30 p.m.

FUNERAL MASS

Church of St. Patrick; 400 Main St, Huntington; Friday, Feb. 22; 10:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to: Suffolk County Police Memorial Fund.
