Shah’s Halal is opening a Stony Brook location in May

|

Shah’s Halal — a popular family-owned halal food chain with nearly 20 locations across Long Island — is making its way to Stony Brook.

CEO Khalid Mashriqi said he has achieved “great success” with his Suffolk County Shah’s Halal locations and there have been numerous requests for a Stony Brook location.

Those who asked shall now receive — as Mashriqi said he is opening a Shah’s at 1113 Route 25A across from Stony Brook University.

“We found the right location and couldn’t be more excited,” the owner said.

He added construction is right on schedule and the grand opening will happen about May 6, following Ramadan.

Stony Brook customers can expect high quality, fresh ingredients and Shah’s signature sauces, which are a crowd favorite, he said.

Patrons can dine-in or takeout at the new location.

“[The community feedback is] amazing,” Mashriqi said. “We have had some people stop in and ask when it’s opening and they’ve also reached out on social media (@shahshalalfood) … We will host a grand opening a few weeks after we open and traditionally offer free platters to all guests.”
