Halal food is now on the menu at the new UBS Arena in Belmont, home of the New York Islanders.
Shah’s Halal — a popular family-owned halal food chain with over 19 locations on Long Island — is now a partner with Elmont’s UBS Arena as its latest concession option for hockey fans.
CEO Khalid Mashriqi said the company’s new spot inside the arena, right off the main entrance behind section 107, will feel like any Shah’s Express location.
They will be open for all events, games, concerts, and more, all year-round at the venue.
“We’re excited about the partnership,” said Mashriqi. “They’ll have the main items which are chicken over rice, lamb over rice, or the gyro over rice, and falafel for a vegetarian option, or a pita.
“We have our signature sauces that top off the platters and the gyros: the Shah’s white sauce, the Shah’s hot sauce, and the Shah’s green chili chutney.”
Mashriqi added the UBS arena plans to host over 150 major events each year, which is great news for Shah’s Halal.
“UBS Arena is an ideal new home for Shah’s Halal given the majority of our Long Island customers are Islanders fans,” Mashriqi said.
