Shake Shack is coming to the South Shore.
The popular NYC-based fast food restaurant is opening Monday, Aug. 14, in Oceanside at 3535 Long Beach Road, Greater Long Island has learned. It will share the same building as the recently opened Just Salad.
The new Shake Shack location will launch at 11 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and live music, a Shake Shack employee confirmed to GLI. The first 100 customers will also receive Shake Shack-branded swag.
For opening day, the Oceanside Shack will be donating $1 per burger sold to Island Harvest, one of Long Island’s largest food banks.
This will be the island’s fifth location, with others in Lake Grove, Melville, Westbury and New Hyde Park.
For the uninitiated, Shake Shack began in 2001 as a hot dog stand in Madison Square Park and grew from there. It is known today for its delicious burgers, crinkle-cut fries and hand-spun shakes.
