The ShopRite in Port Jefferson Station is expected to open in the spring of 2019.
The supermarket will be 68,000 square feet in size.
“ShopRite is always looking for new opportunities and locations to better serve its customers with stores, and we heard from people in the community who told us they wanted a state-of-the-art ShopRite supermarket here,” said a spokesperson.
The Gallagher family, which will open the Port Jefferson store, opened a Lake Ronkonkoma ShopRite in August, which is pictured below.
(The two stores operate independently of each other.)
The space in Port Jefferson Station was last occupied by a PathMark, which was part of the now defunct A&P company.
The supermarket is located at 5145 Nesconset Highway between TJ Maxx and Staples.
