UPDATE: Police confirmed late this morning that the woman in the story below has been found safe and unharmed.
Suffolk Police issued a Silver Alert Tuesday morning for a Holbrook woman who was reported missing Monday night and is believed to be endangered.
Police said 72-year-old Lynn Knakal, who suffers from dementia, left her home on Greenbelt Parkway about 8 p.m. on Monday. She was driving a tan 2019 Honda CR-V with a New York license plate, CRJ 9139. She remained missing as of 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, police confirmed.
Detectives said Knakal made a phone call from the Quogue area around 9 p.m. and has not been heard from since.
The woman is described by authorities as white, standing 4 feet 10 inches tall, with gray and white hair.
