SNY to broadcast Stony Brook football, men’s basketball games

|

On the 20th anniversary year of becoming a Divison I program, it was announced SNY will televise Stony Brook University football and men’s basketball games.

“This partnership with @SNYtv is a big one for @SBAthletics,” wrote SBU’s athletic director Shawn Heilbron on Twitter. “We’re fired up and ready to get on the air beginning Sept. 14 with @StonyBrookFB.”

For the uninitiated, SNY is a regional sports network that broadcasts on the local Long Island cable companies of Verizon Fios and Altice USA.

The broadcast for football games will include Stony Brook’s matchups against Wagner College (Sept. 14), James Madison University (Oct. 5), the University of New Hampshire (Oct. 12.), Towson University ( Nov. 9), and University at Albany (Nov. 23).

The lone men’s basketball game to be featured will be against Yale University on Nov. 5.

“This is just the start,” added Heilbron. “The spotlight on the Seawolves keeps getting bigger!”
