A popular destination for authentic Shanghainese cuisine has arrived on Long Island.
Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao, widely known for its delicate and flavorful soup dumplings, recently opened its newest location at the Samanea Mall in Westbury. The restaurant, which celebrated its grand opening last month, marks the brand’s first expansion into Nassau County and Long Island.
The restaurant specializes in xiao long bao, or soup dumplings, offering nine varieties that range from traditional pork and chicken to more elevated options like pork with truffle, crab, abalone or sea cucumber.
The menu hardly stops at the dumplings. It features a wide selection of traditional Chinese fare, including Shanghai Sui Mai, scallion pancakes, fried spring rolls, and savory soybean milk.
Diners can also choose from an assortment of cold dishes, stir-fries, and noodle soups: Think pork chop noodle soup, stir-fried rice cakes with seafood, and Shanghai-style stir-fried udon.
And save room for ube red bean bao for dessert.
The restaurant’s full menu is available here.
