South Shore Iron New Patchogue Village takes over Finest Fitness

|

That quarantine 15 has got to go.

It’s already fall, dammit.

That that goal for many in mind, the owners at South Shore Iron at New Patchogue Village believe they’re opening at the opportune time.

The gym, formerly Finest Fitness, is located at 208 E. Main Street.

Owned and operated by Vincenzo Masone and Dave McIntyre, the duo started planning for the new space at the height of COVID-19 on Long Island.

The idea behind rebooting the tri-level gym was mostly cultural, focusing on carving out a new identity for its staff and members.

“They are young, aspiring owners,” manager Gaetano Greco told GreaterPatchogue. “They wanted to bring great music, good equipment and cater to the demographic.”

Physically, the 28,000 square-foot gym has also been completely updated.

“We brought in more innovative equipment,” he said.

On the main floor are dozens of machines spaced out for social distancing. Upstairs has space for cross fit-style training and boxing, while the lower level, the “lions den,” features heavier equipment.

Greco said that while renovating the space, they donated Finest Fitness’ former boxing ring on the third floor to a local community center for kids to use.

Officially opened on Aug. 24, South Shore Iron NPV is honoring the memberships of Finest Fitness customers, and is providing three-day passes for any new people interested.

Pro-quality personal trainers are available, ad the gym still features a full medical spa.

South Shore Iron NPV is open Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
