State police in an update said a different suspect was actually the driver in the high-speed chase reported below. Joshua Rosario-Rivera, age 38, was the operator of the stolen vehicle, while Boubacar Diallo, age 39, was the passenger of the stolen vehicle.

Two men face a bevy of felony and misdemeanor charges after a high-speed chase across Long Island during which the suspect struck several New York State Police vehicles, authorities said.
Troopers on Tuesday about 7:36 p.m. saw a stolen vehicle traveling east on the Southern State Parkway near exit 22 in Hempstead.
Officers tried to pull the car over, but the driver, later identified as Boubacar Diallo, 39, and his passenger Joshua Rosario-Rivera, 38, failed to comply, cops said.
Diallo led police on a high-speed chase, hitting numerous marked patrol vehicles during the pursuit, police said. The chase continued north onto the Sagtikos Parkway before ending near the SM5W exit in Smithtown.
It’s unclear how the suspect ultimately pulled over or came to a stop. But police said the two men were taken into custody without further incident.
Two troopers sustained minor injuries.
The following list of charges are pending against the two supsects, police said.
- Assault on a police officer (C Felony)
- Criminal possession of stolen property, third-degree (D Felony)
- Third-degree grand larceny (D Felony)
- Second-degree reckless endangerment (A Misdemeanor)
- Obstructing governmental administration, second-degree (A Misdemeanor)
- Unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, third-degree (A Misdemeanor)
- Resisting arrest (A Misdemeanor)
- Driving while ability impaired by drugs (Unclassified Misdemeanor)
- Multiple vehicle and traffic infractions
Troopers said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges could be filed.
