Spirit Halloween just became the gift that keeps on giving.
The seasonal pop-up retailer that takes over vacant storefronts each fall leading up to Halloween will swap Casper for Santa come Nov. 1. The company is set to throw the doors open to 10 Spirit Christmas stores in the Northeast, including one in the Sayville Plaza in Bohemia.
Spirit Christmas will feature unique gifts; home decor; adult, children’s and pet holiday apparel; Inflatable Land; and thousands of stocking stuffers. The stores will even given a nod to their mother store, with a full line of playful Creepmas items, the chain says in an announcement on its website.
Other features include Gingerbread Lane, where kids big and small can interact with Gingerbread Village characters, take photos, and mail their wishlists to Santa Claus at the North Pole. Customers will also be able to get free digital postcards with Santa.
There are 14 Spirit Halloween stores across Long Island, each peddling costumes, spooky home decor, and other Halloween-themed items. But the Spirit Christmas store in Bohemia will be the only one of its kind on Long Island.
There will two other New York stores — in Poughkeepsie and Albany. The others will be spread out across New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.
The new Spirit Christmas shop in Mays Landing, New Jersey is the first to open. It kicked off operations three days ago. Below is a video tour of the store.

Take that, SNL!
Last month, in the season premiere of its 50th anniversary season, Saturday Night Live spoofed the Spirit Halloween chain in a two-minute reel. “We don’t see an abandoned Kmart. We see a spirit — a Spirit Halloween … We’re great at raising things back from the dead” goes a line from SNL’s two-minute commercial mockup.
In the “spirit of Halloween,” Spirit Halloween CEO Steven Silverstein and his social media crew clapped back with the whopper of comebacks. It featured a costume package for an “Irrelevant 50-year-old TV show.”
The “SNL50 The Anniversary Season” costume package includes “Dated references,” “unknown cast members” and “shrinking ratings.”
Spirit Halloween posted its joke on X, formerly Twitter. The comapny included the SNL skit in its post.
