Update: The Island Symphony Orchestra has announced that its annual Bach Festival will now take place on the snow date due to recent weather conditions.
The concert is now scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. at St. Peter’s By-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Bay Shore.
The afternoon will feature guest violinist Lun Li and a program celebrating the timeless works of Johann Sebastian Bach, led by Music Director Eric R. Stewart. The performance will also include Ukrainian-born baritone Bohdan Budash.
Beyond the music, the Bach Festival is designed as a welcoming experience for all ages. Following the concert, attendees are invited to stay for a post-concert dessert reception and a special “Meet the Instruments” experience, offering guests an up-close look at the orchestra’s instruments and how they produce their signature sounds.
Admission remains $20 for adults, with free entry for students, making the event an accessible option for families, music students, and longtime classical fans. Tickets are available online and at the door.
