The Wellness Stop in Port Jefferson is about to unveil its next chapter.
On Saturday, Sept. 20, at 10 a.m., founder Karen Sullivan and the Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting to celebrate the shop’s newly renovated and expanded wellness space.
Sullivan first opened The Wellness Stop in April 2024, with the mission of offering curated wellness products that were affordable and accessible to everyone. Over the past year, the shop has evolved into a community hub, hosting book clubs, classes and specialized retreats designed to help people reach their full potential.
In June, Sullivan marked the shop’s one-year anniversary with a big announcement: The Wellness Stop was expanding into the floor below to offer a full suite of wellness services. That includes massage, nutritional coaching, InBody composition testing, and Long Island’s only LightStim red light therapy bed cleared by the FDA for pain relief.
“This will be such a supportive modality for those with chronic pain, and we’re so pleased to help where we can in keeping our community healthy and happy,” Sullivan said.
She credited her landlord, Laura, for making the expansion possible.
“Laura knew we would utilize the space to its fullest potential, so it was a natural fit,” she said.

About Karen

Sullivan, a 27-year cancer survivor, has been a certified functional medicine nutritionist for more than a decade. She lives right in Port Jefferson with her husband Phil, their son Connor, and four labs — Adina, Rosko, Louise and Parker.
For Sullivan, owning a shop in her own village is about more than wellness — it’s also about supporting Port Jefferson’s economic growth.
“This community has given me so much, and I’m grateful to be able to give back in this way,” she said.
