After a two-year setback due to the pandemic, the Alzheimer’s Classic Slam Dunk & 3-Point Shootout is returning to Long Island this weekend.
The event showcases the best 3-point shooters on Long Island as well as the best high flying dunkers.
It’s set for 7 p.m. on Saturday at Massapequa’s The Field House, located on 5600 Old Sunrise Highway.
Founded in 2010, the event was founded by former St. John’s basketball star and New York Knick draftee, Gordon Thomas in memory of his father, John Edward Thomas Sr. who died from Alzheimer’s disease.
There will also be giveaways, 50/50 raffles, lotto boards and more.
All proceeds go to the Long Island Alzheimer’s and Dementia Center.
